Customer review Beware Carfax report is not always accurate I was scammed by Abramovich Luxury Cars sales Mercedes E 320

Beware when Buying a used car off of Craigs list, and don’t put all of your trust in to a CarFax Report.

This is my story on how I was ripped off by Abramovich Luxury Car sales based in San Jacinto California due to missed information from Carfax vehicle report.

Back in July of 2008 I purchased a CarFax Report for $34.99, I ran a report on a 2002 Mercedes Benz E320 that I had seen for sale on craigslist.com The report from CarFax came back clean, so I drove down to San Jacinto California and met up with a guy from Abramovich Luxury Car Sales, he told me that everything was clean on the title of the Mercedes E320. I took the car for a test drive, and I have to admit it drove really nice the body clean with a nice blue paint job, and the interior was real clean with tan leather. I could not find anything about this car I didn’t like, so we went back to his office which was a small office in a shady looking office set up. I felt confident that this car was in good working condition, although I have never purchased a used car in the past nor was I a mechanic. We sat down and started to negotiate the deal, the original asking price was $15,000 and I offered $10,000 he said this car was clean and if I looked it up the Blue Book value it was worth $16,500, and he was right I had looked it up earlier before I got there, so I knew he was telling me the truth. We finally met at $12,500 and I was happy with that price, so I paid him cash and I drove off with my new Mercedes E320. I had the car for about a week, and decided to wash it when I noticed that the tan color of the leather was being rubbed off as I cleaned the seats, so I called the guy I bought it from and he said to just go and buy some shoe polish that matched the color and that would fix the worn out spots I noticed as I was cleaning the seats. I said that was not going to work for me and he simply said you purchased the car as is, so anything that you discover wrong with the car is on you, and hung up. i tried to call him back and he would just avoid my calls. I figured if I would just have to deal with the interior that’s not to bad, so I kept driving the car, but within a few months my wife said it felt like the car was having trouble accelerating when she pressed on the gas, so I took it for a drive and it felt like the trans mission was starting to go out. I called the Mercedes dealership and they said it was going to cost an obscene amount of money to get this fixed. I decided to try and trade the car in to get something more reliable since we had just had our first baby, so I took the car to a local dealership that I have done business with in the past and they ran a report on the car and this is when I discovered that Car Fax had missed a lot of information. The report the dealership had pulled reported that the car had a salvaged title and had frame damage as well a long history of being bought and resold at different car auctions this was way different from the clean report I had received from Car Fax. I told the dealership about the car Fax report and they basically told me that they see this happen a lot, and not to use that service, because it is not always accurate. Anyways to make this long story shorter I ended up trading in the Mercedes for a Nissan Titan and the dealership was nice enough to give $5000, so I lost $7,500 from the purchase price, not to mention when I first bought the car I also paid another $1000 to Walters Mercedes in Riverside California for an oil change, and for them to inspect my car and let me know if I got a good deal, which they said they did, and said I did get a good deal, so overall I lost $8,500 on a car, because I trusted the CarFax report. Lesson learned, also CarFax offers a Buy Back Guarantee, but when I sent them a request they never replied back and I could not get a hold of anyone at Car Fax to help me.

I also recieved an email from Carfax asking about my purchase story. I sent CarFax an email in December of 2009 and never heard back from Car Fax, read the email below.

I purchased a 2003 Mercedes benz and it came up with a clean title using your services but when I went to trade it in about a year later it came up with a list of things that did not show up on the report I purchased including frame damage I lost over $6,500 because I trusted your service.

I also included my name and phone number, and never received a response from them.

Have you had a similar experience? I would love to hear about it please leave a reply below with your story.

Charter TV customer service call goes beyond my expectations.

Charter Communication cable TV customer service Rep Joe goes beyond my expectations.

Today is Saturday September 25th 2010, I called Charter Communications about my cable tv service, because at about 8:30 pm all of my channels started freezing and became very choppy, and the same thing happened to me last night around the same time, so I called Charter and after the extremely annoying automated system finally transferred me to a live person which was Joe I thought this would be a normal customer service call where they tell me that there is an outage in my area which was the case, but usually they tell me sorry about that and have a nice day, but Joe was different he seemed like he valued me as a customer. I asked him if there would be a way to get a credit for the days of outage and he was more than happy to help me with the credit. But Joe did not stop there with out me having to ask he actually asked me if I would like for him to check if I was on the best plan that I could be on, and I said sure why not I just figured he would tell me they could add this additional service or put me on a bundle plan and the new price would be this much more than you are already paying. Joe actually asked me a few questions about my usage and services I like to use and then Joe said ok your  on good promo for 6 months for $79.98 a month, but I can do one better for you at $5 less a month and this will make your bill $74.98 a month for the next year. I was really surprised by this and just wanted to let the people at Charter know that Joe deserves recognition for this. I have been looking around for a new service lately, due to not being satisfied with the services I have been recieving lately, but I can tell you this much if your customer service reps can all be a little more like Joe I can promise you a lot of customers wouldnt be looking to switch to a different service provider I can honestly say Joe did such a good Job I am not planning on going any where else at least for now, but if your customer service reps continue to provide outstanding service like Joe did I can gaurantee you I will not be going any where else any time soon.

Thank you Joe for the outstanding help.

TISP Google Free Internet Service 2007 Joke

Google TISP free Internet service joke still fooling people today in 2010

Google free internet TISP joke

Images from google TISP site

I received a call today from someone I am very close to, asking me if I had ever heard of Googles Free Internet Service, also known as Google TISP, I had never heard of this before, so asked my friend to explain how it works, she said Google will send you an installation kit which includes a device that you flush down your toilette, so I stopped her at about this point, and said it doesn’t seem to be real it just sounded to unrealistic, so I told her to let me do some research, and I would call her back. I did a quick google search with the term free Internet service from google tisp and sure enough I found the page my friend was telling me about, so I started reading the information on this page and Google did such a good job that I almost started to believe it, so I did another quick serarch on google with the term TISP goole joke, and that’s when I found that Google had set this up back in 2007 as an April fools joke. I just wanted to share this with everyone, because if you come across this google page and think its real, maybe you will find this page to stop you from calling your friends and family about this awesome new discovery you have made.

Here is some snippets I took from the Google TISP website

NetFlix is a great service that I highly recommend.

Consumer Mike’s customer review on Netflix

I think Netflix is a great service that everyone should have. I have had a Netflix account since August 2009, and have no problems with Netflix so far. I have had two DVD’s reported as missing, but I guess that’s just something that happens with the mail service. The first time I reported a lost DVD to Netflix I was a bit nervous, because I was not sure if they where going to charge me for a missing DVD or what to expect, but I logged into my Netflix account and reported the DVD as missing DVD in the mail, and to my surprise they just sent me out a new DVD. There was no long discussion with a customer service rep or no hassle. I think the Netflix system is a good one, I get a new DVD every other day or so depending on how fast I send the one I have on hand back, of course. I have recommended Netflix to my family and friends, and I have had such a good experience with this great company that I decided to share my experience by writing this article. If you are considering signing up for a Netflix account I would highly recommend it. Another great service I should also mention is their video on demand service, that allows you to stream movies that you can watch on your computer, or T.V. if you have a device that makes this possible like the apple tv, play station 3 or x box there are lots of other devices available to do this with and you can get the list off of the Netflix website.

In a nut shell I would recommend this service, and I give Netflix two thumbs up.

If you have a Netflix account I would love to hear your experience.

City of Riverside rolls out Free Wifi for residents

City of Riverside offers free wifi internet to residents I Love the City of Riverside’s Free WiFi

That’s right the city of Riverside has rolled out FREE wifi for all of its residents. This WiFi service is awesome, and has been such a blessing for me when I am out, and need to connect to the internet. I just want to personally say thank you to the city of Riverside, and to the genius that came up with this great idea to offer this service for free to all Riverside residents like myself. This free Wifi service for Riverside Residents is called Smart Riverside, and I think this name is more than appropriate.

The information below is from the city of Riverside’s website you can learn more by going to http://www.riversideca.gov/

Press Release

Wi-Fi users! Start your search engines! RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside Wi-Fi users can make a minor adjustment to keep using Riverside’s
free network.
The city is now managing and operating the municipal Wi-Fi network with a new Wi-Fi operator, US Internet, starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Residents should change their computer service set identifier, or SSID, setting from ATTMETROFREE to SmartRiverside to continue to use the free Wi-Fi.
The City Council recently approved the change in Wi-Fi operations from AT&T to US Internet. US Internet will have the contract for the next five years.
The city partnered with AT&T in 2007 to build and sustain a free Internet access network for residents. The city will retain the assets and equipment associated with the Wi-Fi system and worked closely with AT&T to support a smooth transition, said Steve Reneker, the city’s chief information officer.
The city has also applied for federal economic stimulus grants to expand coverage across Riverside.
Wi-Fi coverage has spread since the program began three years ago. Many new users are graduates of the city’s Digital Inclusion Program. Families with incomes less than $45,000 can register for the program, which includes training in addition to a free refurbished PC, Microsoft Office software and a wireless access device through SmartRiverside. More than 4,000 city residents are graduates of the program.
For more information, go to www.smartriverside.org, or call the city’s call center at (951) 826-5311.

Pizza Hut Coupon Scam

Pizza Hut Coupon ScamPizza Hut Scam: When I first signed up with Pizza Hut’s online account I received an email stating that I would get $5.00 off my next order, so I tried to use it today. I ordered a large super supreme pizza and on the check out page it said that the order qualified to use the coupon, although it did not reflect in the total amount which was $15.77, but should have bee $10.77 after the coupon is applied right, well it did not deduct the coupon instead it charged me the full amount of $15.77. I called the Pizza Hut that recieved my order and they said that it was because the pizza I ordered was already on special for $12.00 vs the normal price of $17.00 and some change. Ok fine I understand that if the pricing is an already discounted price then I can not apply this coupon, but why did it say that it was eligable for the coupon at check out but then not apply the coupon, but it gets worse I went back to my email and tried to use the coupon for a second order, just to see if it would still work, but to my surprise it said that “We couldn’t find that deal code. Would you like to look at our online deals” I posted a picture below.

So here is what I think they are doing at Pizza Hut. They use this coupon to draw you in then when you try to use it they say it qualifies for this order then when you order it they don’t apply the coupon and tell you that it was already discounted, by then you already went through the process and what the hell its only $5.00 right. Wrong think about it if they do this to one hundred people then they just conned $500.00 out of one hundred people expecting to save $5.00 off their order.

How they can fix this: They should have a message stating that this coupon can  not be applied to this order, because the pizza you are ordering has already been discounted from its original price. There problem solved and now Pizza Hut wouldn’t look like they where pulling a scam.

Please let me know if you have experienced this as well when you tried to apply the coupon you received from Pizza Hut

Gateway HD Monitor Model 2100

Consumer Review: I have a Gateway HD Monitor Model 2100, Product No. FPD2185W That no longer works.

Gateway HD 2100 Monitor

I have a Gateway HD Monitor Model 2100. The screen flickers and then turns off, it is also making a buzzing sound. I only had this monitor for about a year and a half before it stopped working, but because it was $499.00 I cant seem to throw it away. I had hoped to get it fixed, but I do not see a light at the end of this tunnel, after doing some research online recently it seem that this is a very common problem that has happened to many people. I have since purchased a new screen, but really wanted this one to get fixed, because it was really expensive. This is the first Gateway Product I have ever purchased, and most certainly the last, unless they make things right. I think it is important to share this information with others, so that we can prevent future sales of faulty products, so if you have experienced a problem with your Gateway HD Moniter model number 2100 or any other Gateway models I would love to here about it, also we need to spread the word about faulty equipment like this Gateway HD Monitor 2100. I basically paid about $30 a month for this monitor since I only got about one and a half years use out of it, that seem pretty crazy when you break it down.

As far as I know there is no way to fix this monitor, so in a nutshell you and I got ripped off, but if you know something that I don’t know, such as a way to get it fixed or replaced please let me know.

I recently took my Gateway HD Monitor Model 2100 apart and it seems to have over heated or fried for no apparent reason so here is a picture.

Gateway HD Monitor Model 2100 Internal Fried component

If you take yours apart and have a similar looking problem please send me your photos or share them by replying below.

Thanks and I hope this helps someone out there from making a mistake and buying a bad quality product like this Gateway HD 2100 Monitor
